I was in Meron the other day, and there was a Minyon getting ready for Mincha and this Ashkenazi fellow went to be Chazan and then this Sefardi fellow starts to yell at him that he should go away and this is a Sefardi Minyan, nevertheless he continued, the guy yelled and got up to him and told him to move away or he will push him away, then the Ashkenazi guy waited to see what the crowd would say, but no one said a word, I looked around at the Sefardi people that were there, they were embarrassed, but didn't say a word, I got up and walked out and I expected more people to go out as well, but that didn't happen...
But I know that the Shchinah went out ...

YES, rabbi, the hate has to stop. it is so sad to see jews behaving like gentiles. the behaviour we are trying to get rid off by cleaving to the children of israel to follow the true path of the holy torah, somehow its sad to see the jews behaving thus. if only the israelites had removed all vestiges of the nations Hashem asked them to destroy, instead of keeping them as workers, today they wont be thorns ontheir sides . Hope you don't mind my saying this, but beyond the very tiresome issue of Ashkenazi vs Sefardi-bashing that goes on all too often in Klal Israel, with Meron the issue takes another layer entirely - many there are simply under the influence (of any number of things). My point being, try to give the benefit of the doubt (while a saddening event) many there are not quite themselves and what you're seeing isn't a reflection of their Sefardi-ness (which my husband and I are) or their Ashkenazi-ness (which I was), but of their being, frankly, a bit "strung-out."
